The SAFVL delegation at the VECONAC  General Assembly Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.

Twenty members led by SAFVL President, BG(NS) Winston Toh attended the VECONAC (Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries) General Assembly Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar from 25 to 30 September 2014.

Those who went to support the SAFVL official contingent paid their own way there.

One such supporter was LTC(RET) Sardar Ali: "This is an experience money cannot buy. You get to know, first-hand, the veteran organizations of other countries and their culture."

Also visibly pleased with the SAFVL's participation at the VECONAC meeting and the support from members who traveled with the team, BG(NS) Toh said: "We were the biggest team. I was greatly heartened by the participation of our team of veterans at the VECONAC General Assembly. They embodied the spirit of camaraderie among our veterans which was clearly visible to all participants of the other ASEAN countries."

Many members also took the opportunity to visit places of interest in Nay Pyi Taw.
